England - Sri Lanka 1st and 2nd ODI

2nd ODI, The Oval:Sri Lanka 319-8 (50 overs) bt England 273 (46.4 overs) by 46 runs

Jayasuriya (122) took advantage of some woeful bowling, with Sajid Mahmood conceding 80 off seven overs, to help the tourists make 319-8 at The Oval. It was their highest total ever against England and although Kevin Pietersen (73) and Paul Collingwood (56) battled, they were out for 273 off 46.4 overs.

1st ODI : Lords

The tourists totalled 257-9 after being put in by Andrew Strauss, helped by 42 extras gifted by England. And they seized control by reducing England to 66-4, Kevin Pietersen among the early casualties, brilliantly caught by Mahela Jayawardene. Marcus Trescothick and Jamie Dalrymple each made 67 but England ran out of overs with their score on 237-9. Part 1:
